How to move from BIMcloud to BIMcloud SaaS

There are two ways of moving your projects across BIMcloud to BIMcloud SaaS.

There are often 4 parts here to consider:

• The Teamwork Projects themselves
• The libraries used by the Teamwork Projects
• Hotlinks associated with the files
• Server Specific information (users, addresses, roles, permissions).

The main concern when moving projects from one server to another is to relink libraries and hotlinks, both methods will provide different solutions for that. 

 

Download-Upload Files and Libraries from an Existing BIMcloud to a New One

1. Start this process by exporting your Libraries from the old Server into the new one: 

On the new server select the Library Folder and import the files: 

2. Do the same thing for the files that are hotlinked to your projects. You can download all the files inside a folder by clicking on the folder > more > download files: 

On the new server, you can upload the folder containing all the files: 

Now you are ready to relink the Libraries and the Hotlinks as soon as the projects are either Exported - Imported or Saved and Reshared. 

Export-Import Roles and Users from an Existing BIMcloud to a New One

There are two options for Projects: 

a) Export-Import Projects from an Existing BIMcloud to a New One

1. Log in to the BIMcloud Manager through a web browser using the “Masteradmin” credentials (if you don’t know this, access the server and reconfigure the BIMcloud Manager, then reset the password). 

2. Access the Projects tab then select a Project to Export. Click Export from the middle column and the project with be downloaded as a BIMcloud Archive File.  You don’t need to export any backups.

3. On the New Server, access the Projects tab and then click Import and upload the projects.

ATTENTION: The Teamwork Project will still reference Libraries on the old server in the Library Manager. You will need to remove the existing libraries and add in ones previously imported into the new BIMcloud. 

1. Select Library and remove it

2. Add New BIMcloud Library 

3. Make sure to choose the correct Library from your new BIMcloud SaaS 

b) Reshare Projects: 

1. Open the Teamwork Project and save it as a pln (Archicad Solo File): 

2. Close the Teamwork Project and open the .pln file. Then you can relink the Libraries before sharing it to the new server:

2. 2. Add New BIMcloud Library 

2. 3. Make sure to choose the correct Library from your new BIMcloud SaaS 

Remember to do the same for Hotlinks.
