The Ci Sites tool has the ability to Randomly deselect items from a Selection so that you can easily switch portions of groups of Plants to different Plants
This function will work on Plants, or any other objects, that are placed by any means - i.e. using the Ci Tools Sites Place along Line or Fill commands, placed manually, via distribution, or any other method
To do this, start by Selecting all the plants that you want to work with
Next, click on the Ci Tools menu - Sites - Randomly Deselect Plants
This will open a dialog where you can select the amount of elements to be randomly deselected
Enter the percentage that you want to use here, and then hit OK
This will deselect that proportion of Plants, and you can now open the object settings on the remaining plants, and swap to a different object
If you want more randomisation, or additional plants, you can keep on doing this. I.e. select all of the plants again and run the same process again, and swap the new random set to a different plant again.
Nothing is being added to the objects in this process, so you don't need to worry about the model slowing down due to the amount of variety used or anything like that - you can keep randomly deselecting and swapping out objects as much as you like
