You can control the way a door symbol is displayed by modifying the settings under:
- Door > Wall Opening
- Display Options > Plan View
- Display Options > Model View
In the following exercise we show take you through the process step-by-step.
Exercise: Modify Door > Wall Opening Settings
1. Go to Door > Wall Opening
2. Choose the 'Contours in Plan View' twirl down to view options:
- Item 1: Contours – none, inside, outside or both
- Item 2: Contour Pen
- Item 3: Contour Line Type – inside and outside independently
3. Under the 'Background Fill in Plan View' twirl-down, you can set the Fill Type and its Foreground and Background pens.
Exercise: Modify Plan View Settings
1. Go to Display Options > Plan View:
Here you will find options for:
- Items to Show in Plan View – sets the visibility of components in the Window using tick boxes
- Symbol Detail – choose to have a fixed scale symbol or set by drawing scale
- Open Lines – choose to display opening lines as arcs or lines as well as set the colour and linetype. In addition, this can be controlled individually in the window settings or across the project using Model View Options
- Arrow Style for Sliders – choose a style of arrow and then set the size and offsets
- Opening Doors – set the opening angle of the door on plan
- Label Leaf Sizes – choose what to label (none, Width, Width x Height or Height x Width)
Exercise: Modify Model Settings
1. Go to Display Options > Model:
Here you will find options for:
- Pivot Lines – choose the style and set if visible in 3D and / or Section / Elevation. In addition, this can be controlled individually in the window settings or across the project using Model View Options
- Arrow Style for Sliders – choose a style of arrow and then set the size and offsets
- Opening Angles – the opening angles are actually set in the Setout> Glazing page, but here you can choose if the panels are shown open in Section / Elevation
- Animation – set the parameters for Doors opening and closing in animations
