How to Add a Custom Gutter to a Roof Covering

Use Archicad's Profile Manager to define a profile for the gutter, then apply it to the roof covering.

Define a Gutter Profile

To define a custom gutter profile:

1. Draw the profile shape in the Profile Manager. The position and orientation are important. The anchor point should be placed at the drawing origin, and the gutter front should be drawn to the right of the origin.

2. Remove the Cut Line from any edge that should be drawn open.

In this example, the top 3 edges should remain open, the cut line has been removed from three edges (two straight edges and one curved edge).

3. Save the profile.

Now the profile is ready for use as a custom gutter.

Apply the Gutter Profile to a Roof Covering

1. Select one or more coverings, and open the Settings dialog.

2. On the Gutter page, set the Style to Custom Profile, and choose the gutter profile you created above.

Note that the A and B dimensions become locked. The gutter size can't be adjusted parametrically. If you want to change the gutter size or shape, edit it in the Profile Manager.

3. Click OK.
