How to Add Frieze and Finial to a Gable

The Ci Tools Roof Covering allows a frieze and/or finial to be added to gables.

Add Finials

To add finials:

1. Select one of the roof covering objects.

   

2. Open the Settings dialog, and on the Frieze & Finial page, choose settings for the finial.

   

   Set the finial Placement and Holes to Both Ends.

3. Click OK. The roof covering object will now have a finial wherever a gable and ridge intersect.

   

4. Now select the adjacent roof covering.

   

5. Open the Settings dialog, and on the Frieze & Finial page, set Placement to None, and Holes to Both Ends.

   

   A hole will be cut in the the selected roof covering, to allow for the finial we added earlier (steps 1 - 3).

   

Add a Frieze

To add a frieze:

1. Select both roof coverings that form the gable, and open their Settings dialog.

   

2. On the Frieze & Finial page, choose a Frieze type, and set dimensions.

   

3. Click OK to apply the frieze.
