Firewall and Antivirus Exception List

Introduction

Firewalls are software or services used to block applications on your computer from communicating with 3rd Parties. Antivirus software scans running applications and files for malicious software.

Both of these security precautions can impact software.

For the most part, licence services are affected by this type of software, but it can also affect general Archicad performance and symptoms look like regular freezing. 

Licence Manager Tool Firewall Exclusions

The GRAPHISOFT Licence Manager Tool is used to download software keys and update hardware keys. It works in conjunction with CodeMeter Drivers to licence Archicad and BIMcloud.

The License Manager Tool has to communicate with the below services:

• https://activity-api.graphisoft.com
• https://bimx-api.graphisoft.com
• https://graphisoftid.graphisoft.com
• https://graphisoftid-api.graphisoft.com
• https://licensemanager.graphisoft.com
• https://logger.graphisoft.com
• https://ruleservice-api.graphisoft.com

Myci website

• https://myci.centralinnovation.com/

These should all be white listed in the Firewall.

CodeMeter Tool Firewall Exclusions

CodeMeter is the application which is responsible for taking a licence file and using it to activate Archicad or BIMcloud. It can be used to distribute licences across the internet, a network or locally on your computer.

The following ports need to be open for both TCP and UDP connections when setting up a network licence server:

• 22350
• 22351
• 22352

CodeMeter also needs to communicate with the following servers;

• cmtime.codemeter.com
• cmtime.codemeter.us
• cmtime.codemeter.de

Licence Manager Tool Antivirus Exclusions

Generally, you don't need to add this software to the list of 'safe' applications. 

CodeMeter Tool Antivirus Exclusions

The following folders / files should be excluded from scanning.

• C:\ProgramData\CodeMeter
• C:\Program Files\CodeMeter
• You might want to add the following discretely too, both can be found in the program files folder.

Archicad Antivirus Exclusions

The following folders / files should be excluded from scanning.

• C:\Users\  your username   \AppData\Roaming\GRAPHISOFT
• C:\Users\  your username   \GRAPHISOFT
• C:\ProgramData\GRAPHISOFT
• C:\Program Files\GRAPHISOFT

If you use commercial / enterprise firewalls such as Fortinet, please work with your IT team or contact to set this up. 

For most Firewalls included in bundles from AVG, Norton or McAfee instructions on whitelisting can be found online.

BIMcloud Antivirus Exclusions

Please add the GRAPHISOFT Folder to the exclusion list

BIMcloud Firewall Exclusions

The ports used by both the BIMcloud Manager and the BIMcloud server need to be open for all traffic. 

Typically these are Ports 22000 and 22001
