The Cabinets Tool allows for the creation of very detailed cabinetry models with speed and ease. It allow for the placement of basic ‘place-holder’ cabinetry or intricate fully bespoke cabinetry design for documentation and manufacturing.
Reference Guide - Cabinet Configuration
Under the Configuration tab the overall dimensions of the Cabinet can be set.
1. It is also possible to lock a particular aspect of the Cabinet for ease of adjustment.
(This option will be greyed out.)
2. It is also possible to set the overall Face and Plinth options in this tab.
3. The Surfaces to be used in the model can also be set.
Face
Under the Face menu selection it is possible to adjust the width and appearance of all aspects of the Face.
1. The type of Face can be selected as Frameless, Inset , Half Overlay and Full Overlay.
Let us explore each of these individually.
Frameless
1. The size of the frame inside the Cabinet can be adjusted.
2. All tolerances between doors can be set.
Inset
This means that doors will be inset into the Carcass.
1. All dimensions of the framing around the doors, drawers etc. are adjustable
2. Tolerances between the Framing and the chosen door, drawer etc. can be adjusted.
Half Overlay
1. All dimensions of the framing around the doors, drawers etc. are adjustable
2. Tolerances between the Framing and the chosen door, drawer etc. can be adjusted.
Full Overlay
1. All dimensions of the framing around the doors, drawers etc. are adjustable
2. Tolerances between the Framing and the chosen door, drawer etc. can be adjusted.
Carcass
As with the Face settings, the underlying Carcass dimensions are fully adjustable.
1. The Dimensions of the Carcass can be set.
2. The Inset from the edges can be set.
Plinth and Legs
The Plinth and Leg settings allow for a wide variety of options determining how the Cabinet is mounted on the floor.
1. In the first place the Plinth type can be selected.
A selection can be made to have Adjustable Legs, Extend Walls (Sidewalls of the Cabinet), Inset from Cabinet or no Plinth.
Adjustable Legs
1. Toe Space and Height of the Plinth can be set.
2. The size and diameter of the Legs can be set.
3. The position of the legs can be adjusted.
Extend Walls
1. Toe Space and Height of the Plinth can be set.
Inset from Cabinet
1. The Inset from all sides can be adjusted.
No Plinth
No Plinth will be displayed and the Carcass will b mounted on the story level.
Back and End Panels
It is also possible to set a variety of back and end panels allowing for all configuration types.
1. Back Panel and Type can be selected
2. Side Panel variation and Type can be selected.
