The Metadata Tool can also be used to populate properties as Elements are created in Archicad.
We will us the “+” button to add Properties hat we want n our selection ‘basket’ to populate as we draw new Elements. We will add Thermal Transmittance in this example.
Click on Choose to make this part of our Selection.
We can define this value in the Palette as previously.
We set this to 5.
Any Element created with these settings can be automatically populated into an element by switching on the Properties button in the palette.
We will now draw a Beam as an Example, we wwill see the Properies turn green that are being imported into the Element as we draw.
We will see the Properties have been transferred into the Beam.
In the same way it is possible to control the Classifications of newly created Elements.
Lets add a Classification to the Metadata Palette. We will add it once again with the “+” sign.
We can then choose any Classification from the loaded Classification of the project.
Any new Elements created will automatically have this Classification irrespective of Element Type, and the Properties previously selected and adjusted.
We have to engage the Classification transfer by clicking on the Classifications button.
Let us draw another Beam.
We can see that the Classification and Properties have turned green, meaning they are no being populated into the Element.
As we can see the Classification and the properties have been populated into the new Element.
