Keynote Label Types

Labels are the visual representation of a database entry in our project, and may be viewed on your project plan, section or elevation.

There are two types of labels:

  • Independent Labels can be placed in any project view or layout, and are placed independently in your project. They may consist of single Keynotes or multiple Keynotes.
  • Element Labels are placed with a link to an ARCHICAD element (such as a wall, roof, fill or object). In this case, the label will display Keynotes that are associated with either the element itself or with any attribute used by the element (a composite, fill or building material etc). An Element Label, once placed, can also have Keynotes added directly from the database.

It is important to realise that Independent and Element Labels look the same; and can both display any combination of the Key, Title, Description, and Specification Reference.
