Sometimes, when installing or updating the CI Tools, the specific version of Archicad may not be present in the drop-down selection menu.
This can happen if the CI Tools Installer can't detect that version of Archicad, which may happen for a number of reasons.
Please see the troubleshooting options below for steps to resolve the issue.
Search for the install directory manually.
Click the 'Find' button in the top-right corner of the window:
...and browse to the Archicad install directory:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ARCHICAD ##\
where ## stands for the version number of Archicad.
macOS:
/Applications/Graphisoft/ARCHICAD ##/
where ## stands for the version number of Archicad.
Select the correct folder for the version of Archicad you wish to install tools for, and then click 'Open'/'OK'.
Check that you have the latest version of the Ci Tools Installer app.
You can download the latest version from your MyCi profile in the CI Tools ➔ Get CI Tools section.
There will be two options, 'Windows' and 'Mac OSX'. Choose the one that matches your operating system.
The installer will then download. When downloaded, run the installer with Archicad closed. The installer will explain the installation process as you go. For detailed instructions on the install process, please see the link below:
Once the CI Tools Installer app is loaded onto your computer, open it and sign in using your MyCi credentials.
You will then see a list of your available Tools. Please check that the drop-down in the top-right corner shows the installed versions of Archicad.
Were Archicad and the CI Tools Installer app installed to the same user profile?
Sometimes Archicad is not recognised by the Ci Tools Installer app if it was installed from a separate user profile. This may happen if the 'Admin' profile was used to install Archicad, while the CI Tools Installer app was installed on your personal profile.
Please make sure that both Archicad and the Ci Tools have been installed from the same profile. You may need to consult your IT specialist to confirm this and reinstall the CI Tools Installer app on the correct profile.
Was Archicad installed correctly?
On macOS machines, Archicad may not be recognised by the Ci Tools Installer app if it has been 'copied' into the Applications folder instead of being installed with the Archicad installers. This can also happen if restoring/cloning the computer from a backup.
This can also happen if Archicad was deployed to your machine using a 'Silent Install' method. Please check with your IT specialist to confirm whether this is the case for your machine.
In either situation, please repair Archicad from the Archicad Installer and then check whether it appears in the CI Tools Installer app. All Archicad versions back to Archicad 15 are available to download from your MyCi profile in the My Select Benefits ➔ ARCHICAD Downloads section.
You will then be able to choose the version using the drop-down menu on the right of the page.
Each version will have two options, 'Windows' and 'macOS'. Choose the one that matches your operating system.
