A very important part of a BIM project is the communication of issues and information between all involved parties. In Solibri, you can issue Reports that contain all that information, attached to components involved in the issues, assign them to relevant participants and export them to .bcf file (the official communication format for BIM projects), .pdf or a simple spreadsheet.
To create those reports, you will use the Communication Layout and create Presentations:
Presentations are collections of issue slides. They are created to:
-
Collect the findings from checking results
-
Save snapshots to share with project participants
-
Create an audit trial of identified issues
By clicking in Add New Presentation, you will be prompted with the following dialog box:
Let's go over the options:
NEW
By creating a new presentation, you will have to add the Slides (issues) manually, based on your 3D view on the left:
tip: use your markup and dimension tool to annotate your 3D view! |
From BCF File
With this option you will be able to import issues created either in another Solibri file, or in a BIM Authoring Software, such as Archicad:
This is a good workflow if you are working with multiple disciplines. You can have all involved parties send .bcf with the issues they have identified and join them all in Solibri, where you can add comments and even change the status of the issue. One of the best parts is that Solibri will use the IFC ID to identify the components, so if a window is added to the issue in Archicad, the same window will be selected in the Issue in Solibri.
From Excel File
With this option, you are also able to import in a similar way as with .bcf. When you select the file you will have to assign the information to the correct fields:
From Checking Results
This option will create a presentation with all the slides that were created in the checking results layout (Check Model Checking in Solibri to learn how to create your Issue Slides).
Exporting your Presentations:
To export your Presentations, you need to select the Presentation from the menu, then click on Export:
Choose the format and click on Save Report. This report can be used either in another Solibri file or it can be imported into the BIM Authoring Software.
